Dawson's Wharf
The Quay to unlocking your company's potential!
Dawsons Wharf is the oldest and longest established of AV Dawson’s three neighbouring sites at the side of the Tees and is our main conventional cargo handling facility.
It is reputed to be the oldest wharf on the Tees, dating back to 1820 when it was known as Port Darlington and served the fast growing steel and ironworks which were being built nearby. It was later renamed as Middlesbrough Wharf, and was first purchased by the company in the mid 1970s.
Since that time, a programme of ongoing investment has seen the site modernised and developed into an advanced multi-modal transfer terminal with a worldwide reputation.
