AV Dawson has signed a 5-year deal to develop a UK subsea warehouse base in Teesside with Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cables industry. The deal involves expansion of the Group’s storage area at AV Dawson’s freight handling facility in Middlesbrough.
Davide Taddei, Prysmian tenders & assets procurement manager said:
“We have a long standing relationship with AV Dawson. Its onsite team has worked very much as an extension of our own team and the partnership has always been very effective.
“We have now formalised our own growth plans; we are keen to invest in our operations in the region and make this location our subsea warehouse base for the UK. AV Dawson provides us with fantastic facilities and an exceptional level of support, it therefore made sense to formalise a longer term commitment to operate from its site.”
Gary Dawson, AV managing director said:
“We’re proud to be working with world leading businesses such as Prysmian and this long term commitment that they’ve been able to make to us is a direct result of the opportunities they are anticipating in the offshore market – which is very positive to see.
“We now have a growing cluster of offshore companies operating from our site. Of course our location is important, but we also have the specialist expertise and equipment to support businesses in this industry, and with the addition of our onsite ships agency we’re able to provide further added value services.”
